Kaya, wanjoo!
Hello, welcome!
Led by its founder, David “The Wanderer” Hammond, Empire is a safe place for students to play and grow together with friends, new and old. David knows that Empire’s love of play creates and inspires memorable face-to-face fun for friends and families.
Prizes of games or art supplies are awarded each term to members that demonstrate excellent sportsmanship, champion Empire’s values, and contribute inspiring entries to Empire’s Artist Alley.
If your child attends a school where Empire is operating, click Join Empire now to register your interest and secure a spot!
In Bibra Lake, former attendees from Class 8+ are welcome to register for FREE as Keypers — enthusiastic members keen to develop leadership skills by teaching games and modelling our values.
Game in Focus
Articulate for Kids (aka Junior Articulate) is a fast-talking game where players cooperate with their team to describe words as quickly as possible. The thousands of card choices were compiled by an educational specialist and feature categories of object, action, world, person, random, and nature.
This game is guaranteed to generate laughter and is wonderful for developing linguistic flexibility, breaking words into chunks, and lateral thinking… “How else could I describe this word?”
Released in 2006 by Drumond Park, this new version of the 1992 game “Articulate” features fantastically fun and fast literacy for larger groups sized from 4 – 20 players (best with 4-8), ages 6+ (community vote: 10+), for around 30–60 minutes.
You can pick up this gem for around $35-50.
Artist Alley
Term 2’s Artist Alley is to create a meeple with a backstory of their marvelous miniature world!

We look forward to receiving your creative entry.
What do parents say about Empire?
“Daniel loves going to Empire and looks forward to that day every week. He is able to play with his friends which doesn’t regularly happen and make better friendships.
I find Dan more interested in trying new boardgames instead of TV or computer and we are doing more of this at home now.
Thank you for all your help, greatly appreciated!"

“Ellie is loving Empire. She wouldn’t miss it for the world!
She immersed herself fully in the potion challenge… even at the expense of practicing her lines for the class 6 play!
She is naturally competitive and Empire allows expression of it in a very healthy way.
Thank you so much!”

“Thank you so much for the care, thought and heart you have put into the Empire sessions.
Leon has thoroughly enjoyed his time learning new games and I am thrilled that he is getting the chance to practice various skills, especially literacy skills, in a way that is fun and engaging.
You bring enthusiasm, warmth and connection to your interactions and offerings, and it is noticed and appreciated!
Thank you so much.”
